Reading & Conversation Series

Kweli’s monthly Reading & Conversation Series highlights the work of both award-winning and debut authors. The events in the series are free and include occasional lessons on craft. They have been hosted at McNally Jackson bookstore, Poets House and other venues around New York City. The series now includes additional online event sessions. This six-week course is intended for adult fiction writers of all levels seeking to begin or complete a short story or chapter of larger work.

This six-week course is intended for middle grade, young adult, and adult fiction writers of all levels seeking to begin or complete a short story or chapter of larger work.

Kweli is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported by readers like you and by grants from organizations including the New York State Council on the Arts, Community of Literary Magazines and Presses, Amazon Literary Partnership and the Whiting Foundation.

Kweli Journal is supported in part by an American Rescue Plan Act grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support general operating expenses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
