Safia Elhillo is the author of The January Children (University of Nebraska Press, 2017), novel in verse Home Is Not a Country (2021 from Make Me A World/Random House), and her next collection of poems GIRLS THAT NEVER DIE is due out 2021 via One World Books an imprint of Penguin Random House. She is also the author of The January Children (University of Nebraska Press, 2017). Sudanese by way of Washington, DC, and a Cave Canem fellow, she holds an MFA from the New School.
